Web & Hybrid App Development
Native applications are not always the most feasible option for our clients’ needs. We also offer our expertise on mobile web applications, hybrid applications, and mobile-optimized websites. We can assist with the process of optimizing your existing site towards a mobile experience, or help you build your mobile presence from the ground up.
Mobile web applications provide cross-platform solutions that are inherently similar to regular websites, but have been optimized for the small screen. They are accessed via a mobile device’s browser and live on the internet, meaning that launch and updates occur instantly without any user download requirements.
With any web application project, we dispense the same great care and level of maintainable code that we do to our native apps – not all agencies can deliver on this promise. We achieve this with a fundamental understanding of the nuanced use cases involved in mobile web development, and by QA testing each mobile web app we produce in multiple browsers from multiple devices to ensure cross-platform compatibility.
We Investigate:
When we begin our initial consultation, we determine whether your solution is best delivered via a mobile web application versus a native application based upon several criteria.
-
Will search engine visibility assist in your marketing endeavors?
-
Does your app require frequent (daily, possibly weekly) updates?
-
Will your app benefit from unlimited distribution across platforms?
-
Does your app demand internet access?
-
Are you seeking a broader reach with your app than that which is afforded by an app store?
-
Do you have a small budget allotment?
Hybrid Applications
For requirements that fall somewhere between those demanded of native and web applications, there is the hybrid solution. Hybrid applications are effectively web apps, in the sense that they are predominantly written in HTML/JavaScript/CSS, but are wrapped in a native container that enables access to device APIs and app store hosting.
