Performance-wise, we were very impressed with the unit we tested, which sported an Intel i5 processor. Everything worked as described, not to mention, quickly and smoothly. Compared to a similarly-outfitted Surface Pro 3 the new Surface Book handled anything we threw at it without a single complaint.

The Surface Book has tons of features that will please any user like 8 and 5 megapixel cameras in front and back, 802.11 ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, two full sized USB 3.0 ports, a Mini DisplayPort, a full sized SD card reader, earphone jack and a special “Surface Connect” port to plug-in even more accessories like the optional, multi-port Surface Dock. It also comes with a the new Surface Pen, Microsoft’s new electronic stylus which now rests magnetically on the outside of computer.

The last, and very important feature is the price. You do pay a hefty $1500 for both computers on the base version, and both can go up to $3400 with upgrades, but given that the Surface Book outperforms its counterpart in almost all categories ensures that you absolutely get a bang for your buck.
