Mobile Broadband Overtakes Home Internet Use

The Republic of Korea has held on to its spot as the most-connected place in the world when it comes to Internet connectivity. The UN agency that oversees communications and IT development published its annual global survey charting progress across developed and emerging markets. This shows South Korea followed by many European countries alongside Hong Kong and Japan, with the USA moving up one spot to number 16.

There are now 3.2 billion people online, which is a worldwide penetration of 43.4%. Mobile networks continue to be the leader when it comes to connecting users for the next generation of communications. Mobile subscriptions are now at 7.1 billion globally. Now 95% of the world’s population are within reach of a mobile network signal.

The mobile reach globally is becoming the norm. Mobile connections are out weighing laptop and desktop connections in a big way.
